Fixed website prices apply only to the described service and a compatible controller. Diagnosis and fault-finding is $20 per actual hour, plus required parts. If inspection finds a different fault, incompatible revision or additional work, DriftFix will explain the change and obtain approval before additional paid work proceeds.
Every listed DriftFix-supplied stick service replaces both modules as a matched pair. The displayed price is the complete installed total including fitting or soldering, calibration and testing. Straightforward non-stick soldered module replacement is $20 labour per part; true microsoldering is $20 per actual hour. Parts are charged separately unless a fixed total expressly includes them.
Listed stick-pair prices are installed totals. Other builder selections show the supplied-part price and any applicable installation or electronic labour. Checkout is for work on a customer-owned controller unless a retailer-sourced or For Sale controller selection expressly includes the base controller.
The builder is optional. Repairs, diagnosis, soldering, unlisted modifications and customer-supplied-part installation can be requested directly through the quote form.
For any job or build needing parts ordered in, choose the parts deposit or pay the full agreed total upfront before we order. The deposit counts toward your total. Pay the remaining balance before local collection or return postage. Builds using entirely in-stock parts must be paid in full before any work begins. Website payments are processed by Stripe using the eligible payment methods Stripe shows at checkout. A payment is treated as received only after Stripe confirms it; bank-based payments may remain pending briefly. No order-in part is purchased until the required part payment has been confirmed. DriftFix confirms availability and relevant compatibility before work begins. Order-in parts are delivered to DriftFix first for order and fitment checks. A change-of-mind refund for an ordered part is available only while that part remains unopened and unfitted; this does not limit rights that cannot legally be excluded. When all required parts are ready, the customer posts the controller or arranges local drop-off and pickup.
If DriftFix determines that the controller cannot reasonably be repaired as presented, the customer will be informed before further work. The customer may take the controller back and pay only the applicable diagnosis fee, or request a separate ground-up rebuild quote using salvageable original parts, suitable used parts held by DriftFix and any required special-order parts. DriftFix does not routinely stock or advertise replacement motherboards or board-level electrical components, so those items require a separately paid special order.
A customer may request installation of a part purchased elsewhere. DriftFix may review the listing and inspect the part, but does not provide a fitment, compatibility, quality, condition or part guarantee for customer-supplied items, even after a link review. The DriftFix workmanship guarantee applies only to the installation work performed. An unsuitable, damaged or unsafe part may be declined or returned uninstalled.
Standard controller cleaning is $20. Liquid-damage assessment and deep cleaning is $35. These are separate services and are charged when selected.
Mail-in work must be arranged before sending. Customers should use protective packaging and a tracked service and should not send loose batteries or unnecessary accessories unless requested. Inbound and return postage are separate unless a quote or checkout expressly includes them. Local drop-off and pickup is arranged in advance. Once a booking or required part is ready, customers should post or drop off the controller at their earliest convenience, and completed controllers should be collected promptly after the ready notice so workshop jobs and storage can keep moving.
For Sale controllers are separate, one-off stock and are priced individually. Secure checkout reserves the selected controller while payment is being completed and removes it from sale when payment is confirmed. The checkout total includes the selected local-pickup or postage option. Further modifications must be requested and agreed before buying the controller as shown.
If a separately selected replacement displaces pieces included in an Xbox full kit, the builder automatically deducts the displayed separated value of those unused components. The credited unused components stay with or are returned to DriftFix as part of that pricing arrangement; the customer does not need to request a buyback and will not receive the credited components as leftovers.
The DriftFix workmanship guarantee lasts 60 days from completion of the work and covers the repair or installation work performed, subject to the scope and exclusions on the Repair Warranty page. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian law.
